Pius XI Lady Popes Win State Championship!

  

Congratulations to our Lady Popes Basketball Team and program for their achievement in winning the WIAA State Championship game in Madison Saturday, March 27, 2010.  Topping off sixteen successive wins in the season, beating the Greater Metro Conference champs, the sectional finals teams, and then the Big Eight title holder, Pius XI went on to end a public state title string and finish off the team ranked first in state.

 

We couldn't be prouder of our team, our students, our staff, our fans, alums, supporters.

Pius XI Wrestling News

Special "Christmas Congratulations" to Coach Bill Phillipson's Pius Wrestling Team for their FIRST PLACE FINISH at the St. John's Northwestern Wrestling Tournament on Saturday.  Our "Masters of the Mat"  amassed 187 team points to capture the top spot.

 

"Kris Kringle Kudos" go out to our "individual weight class champions" ... Mike Hallmark, Eric Kaftan, Evan Chybowski, Josh Schuster and Max Blodgett.

Congratulations to Amanda Braun.  Amanda has signed a letter of intent to play scholarship golf for Northern Iowa University.  The Panters are a Division 1 program.  Amanda was also named Honorable Mention in the coaches All State poll and named to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Second Team.

Congratulations to Emily Bliske and Katie Geraghty who were named Honorable Mention by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Special CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Peter Reeves who has been named High School Girls Golf COACH OF THE YEAR for the 2009 Season by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Department.  Coach Reeves did an OUTSTANDING job, with an OUTSTANDING team, and all of Pius XI High School is PROUD of both Coach Peter Reeves and his 2009 Golfing Pius Girls!  Click here to read the coverage.
